Dover Castle

The Dover Castle was situated at 43
Weymouth Mews. Established in 1777, closed in 2016. It was hidden away in a
mews in Mayfair. Although only minutes north of Oxford Street, there was
very little footfall and you had to know the pub existed. I remember that it
was a rather smart pub in the 1980s - well used by successful solicitors and
accountants who had offices nearby. There was food that was a cut above that
usually found in pubs. |

Now reopened as The Jackalope. The
Dover Castle name is still etched into the listed windows. |
