I remember the White Hart in Hammersmith, it was
our most popular haunt. I started going there in 1996 until I left London in
1999. Friday, Saturday and some Sunday nights had live music. The landlady
was called Steph and although she looked a bit fierce, she was lovely. I
remember some of the bands were Scam 69, Worm, Beki and The Bombshells and
Dino Baptiste and The Mystic Mile. Sundays was either another Acoustic
Revolution night (see The Coach & Horses, Chiswick entry) or Papa George
Blues Band. Part of the appeal of the pub was its 'late licence' at weekends
until possibly 1am. When Steph left for a pub in Croydon, the place died a
death. A pity.
Another unusual thing about the pub was that the barstaff all lived in the
flats above the pub. |
