Chippenham Hotel

The Chippenham Hotel was situated at 207 Shirland Road. This pub closed in 2015.
Back in the day, the first floor of the pub was known as the Charlie Pigdog club, where Joe Strummer and the 101'ers (his band prior to The Clash) practised and held gigs there. People had to pay 25p for admission.
This pub has just coming out from under scaffolding, and a lot of the facade seems to be in tact. However, you can see that the roof has been removed and walls moved. Apparently, it will be a hipster hotel and the ground floor will be a Co-op. No word yet on whether the bar and historic tiles were saved...
