The Prince Albert was situated at 10 Woodfield Road. This pub was known as the Wicked Wolf at time of closure, and is now in residential use.

I was a PC at Harrow Road Police Station from 1965 until 1976. We used the Prince Albert pub in Woodfield Road,W9, every day without fail. The licensee in those days was Alec Bell. The pub was known locally at that time as The Dead End. The back end of Harrow Road Station can be seen just behind the pub. Alec died sometime in the 1970’s I think, and his son-in-law Mick took it over. Alec’s Mrs was named Kitty as far as I remember. Nice lady. She heard some right old drunken drivel from our lot over the years. I have very fond memories of the pub and the police station. We even only had about 30 yards to walk from the nick to the pub. I wish I was back there. One of our blokes, old Jock Webster, was a very funny man. The more drunk he got the posher his accent became for some reason. He had a wizened face and he was always grouching about something but behind all that gruff exterior he was in fact a very kind man. A real character. He wouldn’t be flavour of the month nowadays with all this synthetic hand wringing that goes on these days. I look back on those days with real nostalgia. They were more honest days than now.
