I was at this pub aged about 8 !
Here’s the thing, it was run by my dads s( Ronald Frederick Marsh of Farnham
Surrey ) step mother and the to my recollection, and that of my 95 yr old
mother we drove there from Farnham in Surrey several times . In sometime in
the late 1950s ,perhaps early 1960s,foggy night ,smoggy night- my
grandfather had to walk in front of our Bedford Utilabrake for several miles
with a torch on the return journey until the London smoke cleared and the
clean air of Surrey broke through ! An event which I remember clearer than
the actual pub.
My dads step mother was the tenant of the pub and ran it for several years . |
