Philip Carman |
1953-1959 |
I am the son of the former publicans who ran this pub
from 1953 to 1959, when they migrated to Australia. I was born just
after they took up the pub and was 5 when we left for Down Under. My
father was David Carman and his family (brothers and sister) had pubs in
London - The Duke of Cambridge and The Plough among them. I have
childhood memories of almost burning down the North Star when I set
alight to my toy box in my first floor bedroom! |
