The Feltham Hotel was situated on the High
Street. This pub was later known as The Feltham Feast and is now used as a
community centre. |

I worked in the Feltham hotel (Feast)
for six months up to its closing in january 1986 or 1987,not sure. The feast
was then being run by charlie and doreen palmer who were as far as i know
originally from leicester? I was a barman and lived in with chas and doreen
and even worked on christmas day and then we three sat down to our christmas
dinner together
It was my first Christmas away from home and chas and doreen treated me like
their son, fond memories. There was a lovely woman named maureen who used to
be a cleaner and a really sound chef named harry who as far as i can
remember lived in the homecourt flats opposite the pub ,he went to work in
the young offenders institution after the feast closed
Because it was mainly a restaurant at the time there were not many regular
drinking patrons but i do remember a Matthew vale who lived nearby and his
mate steve? Who was a big brentford fan ,played many a game of pool and
snooker with those guys,nice lads.
The area manager was a guy named simon Laurie and when we had worked all
over Christmas and had a good busy time in the pub he arrived in the first
week in january and told us the site on which the pub stood had been sold,so
our jobs were gone.i moved to a pub in queens park(the falcon) and chas and
doreen moved to a pub near twickenham
Where i saw them one more time before i left london. Fond memories of the
pub and the people |
