The White Hart was situated at 70
High Street. This pub was present by 1730 and rebuilt in 1898. It was
once owned by the actor David Garrick and was known as the Six Bells until
1780. Dickens used this inn as the venue where Bill Sykes and Oliver Twist
took refreshment prior to a burglary in Chertsey. It closed in 2003 and was converted to flats in the
following year. |
