The Plough was situated on Hill End Road. This
pub is now used as a nursery. |
|
My grandfather, Barry Hester was the publican
here in the 1930s and 1940s. |

early 50s |

I'm sorry to report that the Plough pub
buildings were demolished during December 2015. The site is to be used for
homes, yet another housing project where an amenity - pub, child nursery or
whatever - is destroyed meaning that here in Hill End as in so many places a
residential area comes to have absolutely no facilities whatsoever. The
Property Developers shall inherit (and destroy) the earth. |
