The Alma was situated at 463 High Street. This pub has been demolished and replaced by housing. |

This was demolished c2001, a renowned "old mans" pub, guys
who drank in there moved to the Box Tree or sat in Box Tree Park getting
drunk and sleeping on the benches, the public toilets there had to be closed
as they slept in there as well.
Known as The Pickled Newt at time of closure. |
