The Roxborough
|

|
The Roxborough was situated on the
junction of College Road and Pinner Road,
This pub closed in the late 1980s, when the publican was Les Bogle, to make way for St Annes and St Georges shopping
centres and new road layouts. It has now been demolished. |

I played bass there many times with a band
called Truckstop, c.1977. Country and pop music. A great vibe to the place. |

My parents where the publicans Tom and Theresa. I
remember it being a very nice building with open fireplaces 3 Bars
upstairs and function room on the ground floor. A room for Bands to
practice in down in the Basement. very busy pub with live music nights
.I loved the celi. Lots of functions and the lovely cook a small Irish
lady named Delilah who catered for the restaurant during the day |

played Saxophone with Pete and Gill Hogman and Geoff
Bradford , The basement was the place for bands, and I played many gigs
there mostly on a Thursday Night. Saw and spoke to a few legends there
namely Dave Sutch...and I remember Nick Simper got up and played a few
numbers one night....great memories |
