The Peggy Bedford was situated at 400 Bath Road. It opened in 1928 when the old Peggy Bedford was delicensed, and has now been demolished, with a McDonalds and Shell petrol station standing on the site.

During the mid 1980's I remember the Peggy Bedford Pub, Longford just along the A4 near Heathrow Airport. I was on a Computer Course with ICL at nearby Old Windsor and was staying in a hotel near the Peggy Bedford.
I remember the warm welcoming Peggy Bedford being a much welcoming site over the characterless hotel bar. The Peggy seemed a traditional British pub with a selection of beers. I and my mates was a stranger to Peggy and was made to feel a regular - a nice touch.
We was recognised by a computer network engineer, John Ridgeway from Ferranti, Wythenshawe who was working at Heathrow. Now John, had a nose and a large belly for fine beers and a jolly good evening was had by all in this fine watering hole.

I stayed at the Peggy Bedford several times 70's/80's. It was  listed at Heathrow for accommodation, and I used it as a stop over during my travels. I used the airport bus to a hotel across the road and walked from there. The pub atmosphere was great, the food was good, and there was always a slap up English breakfast in the dining room before leaving. So sorry that the establishment is no longer around. The hospitality was excellent, and I enjoyed great conversations in the pub.
