The Kings Head was situated at 11
Market Place. This coaching inn dates from the 17th century and is grade-II listed.
William Woolley was the landlord in 1748. The pub closed in 1987. |

building details: |
C17 and later, timber framed,
plastered, part lined and painted. 3-storey 3 window centre with parapet,
2-storey 4 window wing left, and 2 window wing right. Centre and right
overhanging 1st floor. Mullion transom casements mainly to centre. 4 flush
frame sash windows with glazing bars at 1st floor, left. Pantiles. Much
modernised. |
