West End

The West End was situated on Long Lane. This pub was used as a restaurant following closure, then converted to housing.

As a member of the USAF, I was assigned to RAF Lakenheath from 1980 to 1983. For about 1 1/2 years (1982/late '93), I lived in the barracks at RAF Feltwell. Prior to 9/11, security was non-existent at RAF Feltwell, so we could easily walk over to the East End, entering through the back/garden entrance. The publican I remember was named Reg...not
the friendliest sort, but generous with his pints. I remember having my first sip of bitter there...it was a life changing experience.
