The Highlands was situated on Beccles
Road. This pub was originally a private house. During WW2 it was the HQ of
the 106th Regiment of the Royal Artillery and housed the gun operations room
for the Yarmouth and Lowestoft anti-aircraft area. It was converted into a
pub in 1951 and closed in 1984. It became a vets, after closure, but the
vets have since moved to the larger, nearby, closed pub
The Magdalene Arms. |

We are the owners and converting it
into 4 flats, we have changed the address to 1-4 Highlands Apartments, 221
Beccles Road.... as a nod to its history as a pub. |
