When built it was called South Star, it
was a Lacons rebuild of an earlier building (with the same name) on the same
site. It became The Quayside Tavern much later, It was most recently called
Quay Pride but closed in 2019. The bar section is now unoccupied but the
rear accommodation and upstairs has been converted to flats. The bar still
contains 2 ornamental mirrors with "South Star" engraving and the beer
garden rear wall contains architectural salvage from the Blackfriars Friary
of which part of stood on the same site. |
