Some time ago I think it was about 1970 I was
the publican in The Railway Hotel in Hardingham near Thetford. It was a
short stay of one year as the business was not good and I was the wrong type
of tenant! I came from London with a business and music background and this
didn`t fit, even though I had a very good knowledge about wines and spirits.
The house was badly built, no insulation and water came in. The gardens were
good and the garages also. My chickens loved the garages and the pheasants
in the back garden, in the springtime the double daffodils came out and I
had fun selling them to passers by. I went on to work in Thetford as sales
manager for Sir Terrance Conrans Conran Fabrics. And now I live in
Switzerland. |
