The Railway Tavern was situated at 2
Station Road. The building dates from the 18th century and is grade-II listed.
It was known as the Fighting Henry from 1976 to the early 1980s. The pub
stopped trading in October 2013. |

C18. Rendered and colourwashed. Steep
pantile roof. Two storeys and attic. Ashlared quoins. Plastered and moulded
architraves to windows. Part leaded glazing on ground floor. Casements with
mullions and transoms. Two flat-roofed dormers with casements. Two doorways
with plastered and moulded surrounds. Parapetted gable to W. One central and
2 gable chimney stacks. Later single storey gabled extension at E. gable. |
