Ferry Inn

The Ferry Inn was situated on Ferry Road and closed in 2009. Twenty-two people died when this pub suffered a direct hit from a bomb on April 26, 1941.
 

As you can see from the photo below, taken from the other side of the river in June 2010, work is under way to reopen this pub. The ‘For Lease’ signs are propped up on the edge of the river.
