Fox & Hounds

The Fox & Hounds was situated on The Street.

I and my wife are the owners of this former pub. It lost its clientele in 1996 when the licensee advertised “frequented by RAF personnel” which would have attracted every spy going to listen in the bar. As a result the Group Captain at RAF Marham put it Out of Bounds, and it lost its clientele. It has had a number of owners since, my wife and I bought it in 2008. There has been no demolition and rebuild . The house is the one built as a pub on this site in 1925 ( or so I am told). I am also told that there have been previous pubs on this site since 1707- I stress “I am told”.
It has great character as a house ,when I visited it pre-purchase it had excellent feelings on site. No regrets at purchase, but I cannot see it returning to even a parlour bar occasionally at present though I haven’t entirely ruled it out. I still have plans for modifications
