The Boars Head was situated at 2 Surrey
Street.
This pub was
present by 1844 when Edward Reynolds was the publican. The original building
was 15th century and was badly damaged in an air raid in 1942. The pub lay
derelict for 10 years until a new building opened in 1952/3. The Boar’s Head
closed for the last time in 1974. |
