The Dog Inn was situated on Main Road. This grade-II listed pub closed in 2014.
Listed building details:
Public House, c1700, red brick, black glazed pantiles. T shaped, 5 bays, 2 storeys and attic; shaped gables. Vertical bands of coloured headers, rusticated brick quoins. Cross stack to right, gable end stack to left. Bays 1-2 and 4-5: ground floor with recessed sashes and flat arches, first floor with recessed sashes. Bay 3: doorway with double cable motif, classical surround, canopy with consoles; rectangular light over door. First floor with segmental headed sash with glazing bars, keystone. Bay facade continues to dormer with large semi-circular headed casement with keystone. Right return with ground floor sash as to front; first floor with large panel for name board; attic with sash under segmental arch. Lower 2 storeyed wing to rear with sawtooth brick cornice and red pantiles. First floor with 2 flat arches, altered fenestration and openings.
