The New Inn was situated at 44 High
Street. |
|
The pub closed in 1973/74. The last
landlord was David Ward, who took over the pub in about 1966/7. The pub was
themed around all things Scottish - as a way of attracting and entertaining
the Stewarts and Lloyds steel workers from the nearby workers' camp that
occupied the disused wartime army camp. Tartan wallpaper predominated. Among
other records, the juke box had such things as music by Jimmy Shand and his
band. |
