The Adelaide was situated on Newgate Street. This pub was demolished in 1985
to make way for the Eldon Square shopping centre. |
|
This was a classic
Scottish and Newcastle boozer with polished linoleum floors, varnished wood
(using that strange paint that (almost) looked like wood grain), and opaque
globe lights. Defiantly
an old boy's boozer in the city centre, it was always a welcoming place,
even if you weren't from the Toon. Sadly missed. |
