The Farmers Rest was situated on Haymarket. This pub closed in 1995 to be demolished and replaced by a bus station and a Marks & Spencers .
The Farmers was great, 2 rooms on a split level with a pool table in the top room and a pinball machine in the bottom, good rock juke box, considered a rough pub but I never saw any bother. Always had a mix of people, bikers, bus drivers, likely lads! Knocked down to allow expansion of marks and Spencer, another historic Newcastle pub lost.
