Kings Head

When my late mum's family moved to this house in June 1919, it had already closed as a pub. Her father started a carrier's business with a horse drawn vehicle, from these premises. The house is towards the top end of the village, not far from the village school. The family moved to Elm Tree House, further down the village in March 1923, as it was decided to change to motor transport, and the old King's Head premises didn't have enough space to build a garage. The business became "Clark's Coaches".
