The Chestnut Tree was situated at 482 Mansfield Road. This pub has been used as the Fat Cat, a cafe bar, since 1982. This has also now closed.

It remained closed for several years and was bought in 2019 by the owners of any upmarket Indian restaurant. It has been refurbished and is now called the Tipu Sultan (Sherwood). However, the Covid pandemic of 2020-2021 has prevented the owners from commencing business and so it has not yet (ever) been open to the public.
