The Wollaton Arms was
situated on Trowell Road. This pub has now been demolished with new housing
built on the site. |
|
This was built originally as a Tennants pub called the 'Balloon Hotel'.
This was a reference to a road junction about 200 yards away known as
Balloon Crossroads, falsely thought to be the launch point of a gas balloon
in the early 19th century but probably named after some cottages on the
crossroads with strangely shaped roofs. |
