The Goose
was formerly known as the Red Lion. Situated on the B4009 which runs through
the village, this building dates from 1838 and was recorded as having been
used as a meeting place for tithe commissioners in the 1841 census. A former
landlord was a chef to the Prince of Wales and worked at Highgrove and other
royal palaces. As The Goose, the pub focused more on food and won Michelin
Stars in 2005, 2008 and 2010 before closing on August 1 2010. |
|
This pub reopened in 2012, reverting to its previous name of The Red Lion. |
