The Gardeners Arms was situated at 57 The
Street. This beerhouse is now in residential use. The building
still retains its Morlands Brewery ceremic plaque. It closed in 1967. The
cellar was filled in during the 1970s and the entrance is now lost. |
The publican in 1911 was Thomas Lovegrove, whose son Henry Charles was shot
and killed at the Reading Rifle Range in 1901. |
