The Hope & Anchor was situated at 3 George Street.
This pub opened in 1679 as The Six Bells, when the publican was Thomas
Kimber. It had been renamed The Hope & Anchor by 1812. It was closed and
demolished in 1929. The last publican was Henry Badcock. Commercial offices
have been built on the site. |
