The Light Horseman was situated at 24
Castle Street. This pub was present by 1822 when the publican was Samuel
Alder, a drill sergeant in the Oxfordshire Yeomanry Cavalry. It closed in
1877 with the lease sold to Oxford Corporation for £40. It has now
been demolished with commercial premises built on the site. |
