Sycamore Inn

The Sycamore Inn is now a house. I visited this pub several years ago but it was boarded up. I then  revisited several years later and it had been converted into a house. Many years ago my grandfather, John Thomas, was landlord here and my mother and several of here brothers and sisters also lived there. I have so far been unable to find any information about my grandfathers time at the pub or any history. Sad to say I missed several opportunities to visit and have a drink at this inn; it holds many unanswered questions and memories of my mothers side of the family history

Matt Bailey 1975/1982 My parents were the Landlord and Landlady of the Sycamore Inn. Doreen and Eddie Bailey. They ran it very successfully from 76 to 82. It was a Border Breweries pub which did basket bar meals. It had a large beer garden with tables, chairs, slide and swings and had one guest room. It had a small car park at the front and a large one at the rear. Was a well used community pub. I’m led to believe it closed for good circa 1992/93
