The Pear Tree Bridge Inn was situated
on Holyhead Road, Oakengates. |

Somewhere I have a t shirt celebrating
their beer festival. Under the last landlord, 'Bondy'. these were held
yearly. He also had a sideline in snack foods, & when he gave up the pub
trade started his own business supplying these as 'Bondys of Telford'. The
snacks business still going to this day. There used to be a very non PC
barmaid who worked there, one day a week. Her conversations about her
previous weeks adventures resulted in her working night being called 'Filthy
Friday'. |

My father was the landlord, so I
lived in the pub from age 6 to 12. |
