The Angel Inn was situated on The Square. This pub is now in residential use.
A grade-II* listed timber framed former Inn of about 1550 re-fronted late 17th century possibly the same time as the first floor fireplace dated 1672. This Inn was at one time three licensed premises having an ale house on the first floor, a gambling den on the second and a house of male entertainment on the top floor. In 2006 the building sold for £465k. It is currently a self-catering holiday let. A search of directories revealed, 1842-1852 unless it had a previous name or was just an alehouse, no Angel seems to be listed, 1889-1902 Thomas Chapman (& farmer), 1914-1919 I can’t locate the building suggesting it was no longer a pub. I don't think it was ever a coaching inn, not ever having a carriageway as far as I can see. It is possible it was just an 'inn' under Thomas Chapman mid to late in the 19th and early 20th century.

Listed building details:
Inn, now house. Circa 1550, refronted late C17, further early C19 alterations. Timber framed, rendered, double Roman tile root, brick ridge stack to right, projecting rendered stack to left. Three storeys  and attic, 2 bays. Central canted bay to second floor with exposed studwork under a tile pent, 3-light casement, each light with a pointed arch head, glazed spandrels. Two canted bays to first floor, exposed stud- work, C17 5-light mullioned; and transomed; windows; tiled pent with faciaboard extends over those 2 bays and under the second floor bayi between the bays a signboard under a triangular pediment. Ground floor set forward slightly under the first floor bays, 2 flush mounted 16-pane sash windows, central C20 plank door, tiled pent over. Two storey wing set back to right, broad door opening to ground floor, double plank doors. Evidence of jettying to first floor to right return of main block. Fine fireplace to right room of first floor dated 1672; exposed ceiling beams.
