The Red Lion was situated on the High
Street. This grade-II listed pub has also been known as The Lion, The Golden Lion and The
Axbridge Lion. It has now been converted into a community cinema and holiday
home. |

Inn. Early C19. Rendered, corner
pilasters, hipped double Roman tile roof, 2 prominent brick stacks. Three
storeys, 3 bays, 16-pane sash windows, except 12-pane sash windows to second
floor. Door opening in 2- torey out shut to left which is in a similar
style, double half glazed doors; further broad door opening to its left, C20
door with narrow glazed lights, formerly a carriageway. Decorative
wrought-iron bracket to left corner of main block, C20 signboard. |
