The Blue Anchor was situated on Cleve Hill. This pub closed in 2018 following a landslip.
This pub remains closed, but there are still ambitions to reopen. Currently sea defence improvements a hundred feet from the pub are ongoing so the pub will remain closed for the 2024 summer season. What will happen next summer who knows? At least the holiday homes business still functions. On the bright side the pub buildings aren't going to end up in the Bristol Channel for another hundred years or so, although the garden is a lot narrower now.
