This pub closed in 2003. Planning permission has been granted for conversion to flats.

Owned in the 1940s, and maybe early 1950s, possibly also the 1930s by Ben Winter and his wife Irene. There was a skittle alley there, and I believe that it was a stop on a stage coach route at one time, where they used to change horses.
