The Plume Of Feathers was situated on Blenheim
Road. This pub was built in 1686. It was a coaching inn in the town centre
that was opposite the original Duke of Wellington pub. Daniel Defoe, author
of Robinson Crusoe stayed here in 1772. The pub was demolished in 1965. It was demolished in 2003 and replaced by a block of retirement
flats. |
