Crown Inn

The Crown Inn was situated on the High Street.

The pub transferred from Miss A. Fox to Mr. John Squire Wrigley on 31st March 1909. With the stock in trade, fixtures and fittings and apportionment of licences, it came to the grand sum of £156 6 shillings and 7 pence!
Wrigley seems to have been at the Crown until at least 1920. His bill heading gave the address as “Crown Brewery, Kinver” and under “John S Wrigley”, it said, “Wines and Spirits of the finest quality, direct from Bond and Distillers”.
On a 1920 Insurance Policy, he was also described as “Cattle Dealer, 40, High Street, Kinver”.
He was living at the Crown with Edith M, Edith C and William K Wrigley, during WW1.
