We stayed at The Jester Pub in Leek back in the
spring of 1988. We were a travelling soccer team from Canada named Kings
Arms Pub. Our trip was organised by our coach & former Stoke professional
Tony Bentley. The Jester owner’s name was Tom he was a lovely host. He
told me many stories was anvid farmer and raised miniature Dexter cows. He
was also football legend Stanley Matthews' best friend. The pub had a warm
friendly atmosphere and the beer and food was fantastic. It was a trip of a
lifetime and I will never forget that fabulous Pub and its owner. |
