The Bear Hotel was situated at 53 West Brampton and has now been converted to flats.

The Bear used to host a notable folk night, and Friday nights, late 1970's, early 80's was Punk/Alternative night.  I recall seeing All The Madmen there. Later on, in the 1990's, The Hidden Persuaders tried to revive the tradition of live music at The Bear, but without much success.
