Hempstalls Inn was situated at 97
Hempstalls Lane. This pub was a popular music venue, however has now been
demolished and replaced by a care home. it was later renamed The Hempstalls
when Bass bought out Bents Brewery. |

I played at The Hempstalls. The band room was huge and had a tiny stage next
to the back window. Friday nights was the time to go see decent local rock
bands, among them Passport Smiles, Strange Brood, Raw Material. They had an
effects gizmo to plug your microphone in and a foot pedal to activate this
echo-wo-wo-wo-wo thing ... good fun. |
