The Horse Shoe Inn was situated on the High Street. This pub was present from 1871 to 1976, Bob Thomas, West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper, was publican at one point with the FA Cup being displayed here in 1888.

Diane Worley 1968/1973 I was the daughter of the licensee, Joe Marsden, I worked in the Tudor Bar upstairs. We left just after the building of Queens Square and Kings Square.We moved to the Crown & Cushion Inn Lloyd Street.This is opposite the main gates to Dartmouth Park. Igot married from there. My parents retired to Spain in the early 1980s.
Malcolm Glass 1959/1963 My father Albert Edward Glass M.M was license of the horse shoe inn and also manager of the palace cinema a few doors away we had many happy memories there Nancy kimberley was our cleaner at one time and a lady we always called Auntie.
