The Bell Inn was situated on The Street.

My late grandfather, Cecil Aldred, was landlord between 1930 - 1960. It was an Adnams pub. In addition to being landlord, my grandfather ran a number of businesses from the pub, including dealing in second-hand cars and selling fruit grown in the glasshouses at the rear. The pub was very profitable during World War II - it was full of American airmen from local bases.
