The Shepherd & Dog was situated on Sicklesmere Road. This was without doubt the finest drinking establishment in the area, a Greene King house, run for nearly 25 years by Bill and Edna. Unfortunately they had to close just prior to their 25th anniversary, due to ill health, in the late 1990s. It is now used as offices.
