Hulvergate Lodge

The Hulvergate Lodge was situated on the B1127. This pub was previously known as The Gate.

The Hulver Gate was named as it stands next to the road where once a tollgate operated. I own Tollgate Farm which is the land to the right of the now closed pub. The last landlord was Dennis Long, c2000. It then became known as Hulvergate Lodge and was all but a restaurant under two consecutive owners up to closure about the year 2005. After a fire the pub building was rebuilt as a private house under the ownership of a Mr. Carver who still owns it.
