The Magpie was situated on Norwich Road.
An old coaching inn, the building dates from the 14th century and is Grade
II Listed. The pub’s sign spans the road and is also Grade II Listed. This pub closed in February 2010. |

Heavy traffic still thunders along the busy road, which passes beneath the
gallows sign – one of the few surviving examples in the entire country. |
