on The Street. This grade-II listed pub
closed in 1996 and is
now in residential use. |

building details: |
Public house. Mid C16. Timber framed,
roughcast render, plaintiled roof. 2 storeys and attic. 3 cell plan. 3
windows, C19 and C20 casements; lobby entrance with 6-panel raised and
fielded door (the upper 2 panels glazed), moulded architrave and bracketed
hood; cove eaves cornice. Internal stack and external stack to the right
hand gable end. Single storey wing to right hand side. Much modernised
interior: on the ground floor there are some good moulded beams and joists
and one original moulded mullion window. A linenfold-panelled partition was
removed during internal alterations in 1958 and is now in the parish church. |
