Sotterley Falcon

The Sotterley Falcon was situated at 5 Sotterley Common. This pub is now in residential use.

During the 1960's my mother and father in law were licence holders of this pub.  I am not sure the year they took the licence, or the year they gave it up, but my guess is 1963 - 1970 maybe.  When my husband returned from active duty in Aden we lived at the Falcon with our 3 children with David's mother as his father was in hospital.
I believe after my mother in law moved out, a body, a young woman I believe, was found in the building.  Interestingly, my youngest sister in law is married to Graeme Dyer.  Graeme's father was a police officer and I believe he was the first person to get into the building to investigate the findings.

My family lived at the Sotterly Falcom from 1961 to 1966. Great life with 3 acres of land brother used to sail his boats on one of the fields. Biking though Benarce estate to get to Sotterley School which only had 51 children in all fantastic memories.
